# How do I log in?

As a candidate, you can log in in two ways — either via a personal link sent by email or manually using your email address.
You can also set a password and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for extra security.

## First-time login

If you’ve been asked to complete a background check, you’ll receive an email from Right Person with a personal login link.

Here’s how to log in:

1. Open the email from Right Person
2. Click the yellow **"Get started"** button
3. You’ll be taken directly to the Right Person-portal
4. From there, you can access your profile and begin the background check

> 📌 The email contains a secure link — do not share it with others.

## Logging in later

If you’ve used the portal before, or if you can’t find your invitation:

1. Go to [rightperson.com](https://rightperson.com) and click **"Log in"**
2. Select **"Log in with email link"**
3. Enter the same email address you used the first time
4. You’ll receive a new login link by email — click it to access your account

📌 If you don’t see the email, remember to check your spam or junk folder.

## Set a password (optional, but recommended)

After your first login, you can create a personal password for faster access in the future.

Here’s how:

1. Go to **Menu → Settings → Password and Security**
2. Under **"Update your password"**, enter and confirm your new password
3. Click **"Update password"**

## Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)

2FA adds an extra layer of security.
When enabled, you’ll be asked to enter a one-time code sent via SMS in addition to your password.

To activate or deactivate 2FA:

1. Go to **Settings → Password and Security**
2. Scroll down to the **Two-factor authentication** section
3. Use the switch to enable or disable **"SMS message"**
4. You’ll now receive a code by SMS each time you log in

> You can change this at any time under the same settings menu.

## I can't log in

Try the following:

* Check your spam/junk folder for the login email
* Make sure your email address is entered correctly
* Wait a few minutes and try again
* Or create a password and use that next time
